Dr Laura Beaumont (Chiropractor)

My introduction to chiropractic was through my father who sought the care of a chiropractor in 2002. He had been off work for months with raging back pain and no improvement. As a child, seeing your father unable to move and in excruciating pain is quite shocking. He hobbled into the chiropractor’s office with my grandad’s walking stick, but came out a different man. Within a few sessions, my father underwent a dramatic recovery, and our family became advocates for chiropractic care.

This planted the seed for my own interest in chiropractic – what had they done that no one else had? How, after months of agony, could regular adjustments make such a profound difference? And is this something that I could learn to help others? After 2 weeks of work experience shadowing a chiropractor, I knew that this was the path I wanted to follow.

Chiropractic Education

During my study at the Welsh Institute of Chiropractic, I was continually amazed at the resourcefulness of the human body and its ability to adapt to the vast amount of stressors we experience every day. I was fascinated to learn not only about the anatomy and physiology of the body, how at times the body breaks down and expresses this in different ways, but also how chiropractors can help keep the body functioning. During my final/clinic year, it amazed me how all that I learnt over the previous years had accumulated and I saw the bigger picture – chiropractic care is a long term commitment to overall good health, unlike forms of medicine where there is a quick fix approach to the problem by treating the symptoms, not the cause. There is a need for people to take an active role in their health care and participate in their health and recovery. This includes correcting posture, strengthening weakened areas, regular exercise and a healthy diet.

Chiropractic Professional Experience

Before joining Shrewsbury Family Chiropractic, I gained valuable experience and expertise when caring for a wide range of people in the community. I developed a special interest in working with athletes with the aim of improving and sustaining their physical performance, but also helped those tied to a desk all day and new mothers.

Chiropractic Care Helps You Become The Best You Can Be

Through the correction of underlying dysfunction and subluxations (misalignments of the spine), chiropractic care helps you become the best you can be. Your body can function optimally and we will assist you on your way to true health and wellbeing. When people take ownership of their own health and take the first step, together we can change the face of health in our community.

I studied chiropractic at the Welsh Institute of Chiropractic just outside Cardiff. After graduating I practised in Manchester prior to moving back to my home county of Shropshire. I enjoy running regularly and often participate in half marathons. As well as general care, I have a keen interest in sports chiropractic. I understand the importance of regular care and nutrition as well as when to rest and when to train. This knowledge has inspired me to help others enjoy their sports in a healthier way.

Dr Beaumont (Chiropractor) By locating and correcting misalignments (subluxations) in the spine, the nerves will maintain normal communication between the body and the brain. This enables the body to function at its optimum. To help prevent further functional issues, we can help you make healthier choices that will prevent repeated stress on the nervous system”.
